Michael Vaughan trolled a Pakistan cricket team fan after England secured a berth in the T20 World Cup 2024 following Australia’s win over Scotland in their last group match of the tournament.
England played Namibia in their last must-win group match of the tournament and the match was reduced to 10 overs per side due to rain in North Sound. The excessive rain made the outfield wet and it looked like the match would be called and the defending champions will be out of the tournament.
England won the match by 41 runs as the defending champions restricted the Eagles to 84/3 after scoring 122/5. Namibia had to chase an adjusted target of 126 due to the DLS method.
While the match was stopped, a Pakistan fan on X, formerly Twitter, posted an image of the ground during rain with the caption: “Hey, @MichaelVaughan karma is real. #ENGvsNAM."
Vaughan didn’t respond to the post until Australia beat Scotland in St Lucia and England secured a place in the Super 8.
"Morning Nawaz .. looking forward to the Super 8s .. Are you?" Vaughan replied to the Pakistani fan.
Earlier, Vaughan criticised the Pakistan fan saying that they cannot blame the weather for their exit from the T20 World Cup as they lost to the United States (USA) and India in matches they could have easily won.
“They [Pakistan] cannot blame the weather. They should have beaten the US and India. If they did, they would have been through to the Super 8s. I just don’t see Pakistan at the moment as a great white-ball team. Even when they went to the final in the last [T20] World Cup, I didn’t think they were a great side. They just did what Pakistan did. I’ve said earlier that they should have won that game against England,” he said.
